New York Bergère Armchair by Saba Italia
The New York Bergère Armchair is part of the New York collecgtion. A collection which proudly bears the name of the Big Apple. Two souls, uptown and downtown, enclosed in a single design piece whose fully changeable covers reveal its innate versatility. The classic function of the armchair for reading or relaxing is ensured by the height of the back, the comfortable headrest and the elegant pouf. An unbroken link with tradition interpreted in a contemporary style with a sophisticated lightness.

Saba was established in 1988. Saba has worked ever since in the pursuit of relaxing design concepts. The concept, as well as the selection of materials, workmanship and manufacture, are all guided by the desire to experiment without overstepping into excess, supported by constant attention to quality and ergonomics. Saba believes that design products should not only be technically excellent, but also respond to real consumer needs, as well as offering aesthetics to stir the emotions.
Born in 1953, Sergio Bicego left formal education and began, almost by chance, his experience in the field of the padded furniture. Fascinated by the world that surrounded him, he eagerly devoted himself to researching building forms and techniques which have borne fruit for the companies in which he worked. In 1991 he opened his studio as an independent designer and in 1993 he came across Saba Italia. New challenges and new incentives lead to the creation of the “nomad sofa”: Taos, Ananta, Limes, Nesting, Pixel. Creations that were born from reflection of new desires that encourage us to live in a less formal way, equipped with systems that enable change with simple gestures, by playing with shapes.
