design, Sergio Bicego
Pixel Sofa from the creativity of Sergio Bicego features a series of elements that can be freely combined. Thanks to an exclusive connector created by Saba Italia, the arm- and backrests can be removed from the bases to form endless new arrangements. The feather-padded seat cushions feature special quilted covers. This highlight the limitless possibilities for mixing the fabrics in the Saba collection to create a new and unique sofa every time. Thanks to the distinctive shape of the back- and arm-rests, the overall width and depth of the sofa are surprisingly small. The Pixel Sofa has been carefully, ergonomically designed to provide the maximum comfort in a highly refined and stylish product. All the covers on the Pixel Sofa are fully removable which allows for easy maintenance and cleaning.
Saba was established in 1988. Saba has worked ever since in the pursuit of relaxing design concepts. The concept, as well as the selection of materials, workmanship and manufacture, are all guided by the desire to experiment without overstepping into excess, supported by constant attention to quality and ergonomics. Saba believes that design products should not only be technically excellent, but also respond to real consumer needs, as well as offering aesthetics to stir the emotions.
Born in 1953, Sergio Bicego left formal education and began, almost by chance, his experience in the field of the padded furniture. Fascinated by the world that surrounded him, he eagerly devoted himself to researching building forms and techniques which have borne fruit for the companies in which he worked. In 1991 he opened his studio as an independent designer and in 1993 he came across Saba Italia. New challenges and new incentives lead to the creation of the “nomad sofa”: Taos, Ananta, Limes, Nesting, Pixel. Creations that were born from reflection of new desires that encourage us to live in a less formal way, equipped with systems that enable change with simple gestures, by playing with shapes.
